Hope in Christ-Prisoner of HOPE

Image
Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles. Zechariah 9:12 Zechariah 9, Christians, being ‘prisoners of hope’. This concept had never really crossed my mind before. Many of us have read that Jesus came as part of His mission to ‘set captives free’, so what then does it mean to become a prisoner again? Surely this makes no sense? But instead of this being an illogical statement, this call to become prisoners of hope instead reveals something very beautiful in the character of God. Do you feel sometimes as though you are hopeless? Well, you are not without hope, you are not hopeless, but helpless. (Repeat) God has put you in a position of helplessness or complete dependency on Him and you are helpless to help yourself. You struggle to gain back some measure of control over your life, but your pride (that you did not even know that you had) is being crushed...
Having   Mental   Health   Issues   Doesn’t   Mean   You’re   a   Bad   Christian In fact, owning up to your mental health issues is a sign of spiritual maturity I’m writing about this because the stigma surrounding mental health especially in Christian communities, keeps people locked in prisons of shame, refusing to admit that they need help. If you’re struggling and feel alone, please know that you can still be a Christian and have a mental health issues.   Mental illness is far more prevalent than many realize. With one in four adults struggling with mental illness each year, there's no doubt that there are people in our churches who desperately need love and support. Unfortunately, the church hasn't always done a great job of ministering to those affected by mental illness—either their own or a loved one's illness. But it doesn't have to be that way. This Bible study expl...

Soaring

Isaiah 40:31, but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Woow we are half way through the year. I was just thinking some people would have lost hope or faith in the lord. Nevertheless in this season the lord is saying i will renew your strength so that you will finish your race strong and in perfect peace. the same God who started with us will finish with us. Remember that He who began the good work in us will see it to completion, Philippians 1;6. "To wait upon"  means, "to bind together (by twisting)." Those who wait upon God are in a sense wilfully binding themselves to God’s will, confidently expecting His plan to produce the best possible results. Waiting on God does not mean simply watching the time until God delivers. The English word "waiting" can be equated with the act of serving.  Let me give an example of Waiters, t...

Battle of the Soul

Battle of the soul There is a battle raging for the soul of every individual on earth. There is a battle raging for every church, for every city, and every nation. Victories are being won in many places across the earth, but the greatest are yet to come. Multitudes of new spiritual warriors are now being mobilized, trained, and will soon be sent forth. They will be entrusted with divinely powerful weapons and they will use them. They will tear down the enemy’s strongholds over the minds of men. A force is about to be released like the world has never seen.  Choose Your Weapon One of the most powerful spiritual weapons that has been given to God’s people is peace. We may think that peace is not a weapon. But in fact, it is such a weapon that Paul did not write it was the Lord of hosts, or the Lord of armies, who would crush the enemy, but said  “...the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Romans 16:20) . When we abide in the peace of God it...

Steadfast Love: deep clouds,deep mercy

Steadfast Love: Deep clouds, deep mercy How could anyone cry out, “Great is your faithfulness!” in the middle of loss? The answer is that Jeremiah knew God could turn tragedy into triumph. He had a revelation of God’s steadfast love. A love that is resolute despite surrounding circumstances. In the middle of his sorrow, He finds hope and comfort in his God. Jeremiah said, Just as Jeremiah describes it in his book “The steadfast love of the L ᴏ ʀ ᴅ never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ( Lamentations 3:22–23 ). Have you ever wondered why Jeremiah says that God’s steadfast love and mercies never cease and yet they are new every morning? How is something that never ceases, new? Every Single Moment Is New with God, for he keeps no record of our wrongs. This is how our Heavenly Father recklessly loves us. “God’s enduring love and constant mercies are not only new every morning, but new every moment.” Ever...

ART OF WAITING : Waiting on God’s Promises:

Image
A lot of people don't know how to wait. Society has an impatient, "do-it-quick, high tech, computerized, push button" mentality. We try to bring all that over into Christianity, but there are times when you have to be willing to wait.  You may be waiting for a major financial breakthrough in your business, a miracle baby, a job, healing or someone special in your life. While waiting patiently is definitely not easy, we need to be encouraged by some people in the Bible who waited for God for years until He fulfilled His promises. Consider Noah for instance, he spent many years of his life building an ark, some say a hundred and twenty while some argue that it took him seventy-four years. Be that as it may, it took Noah years to build the ark and people ridiculed him, asking if he was certain he heard from God. Whatever you are waiting for will eventually come to pass. God’s timing is perfect; everything God says happens exactly when it is supposed to ...

God hears when we pray

Do not stop crying out to the   Lord  our God for us, that he may rescue us.   1 Samuel 7:8 Sometimes the burden is too heavy..take time to pray for one another..you Cnt jst speak and encourage..go out of your way to pray with & for them..at some point we have traveled on the wings of someone ‘s prayers.. One day, when I was deeply concerned about the welfare of one close to me, I found encouragement in part of the Old Testament story of Samuel, a wise leader of the Israelites. As I read how Samuel interceded for God’s people as they faced trouble, I strengthened my resolve to pray for the one I loved. The Israelites faced the threat of the Philistines, who had previously defeated them when God’s people didn’t trust in Him (see 1 Samuel 4). After repenting of their sins, they heard that the Philistines were about to attack. This time, however, they asked Samuel to continue praying for them (7:8), and the Lord answered clearly by throwing their enemy ...
