The power of a simple prayer

The One Who Hears When you pray, remember the name of the One who hears. Jesus. Jesus has unimpeachable authority. “He sustains everything by the mighty power of his command” (Heb. 1:3 NLT). “God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name” (Phil. 2:9 NIV). The Roman government tried to intimidate him. False religion tried to silence him. The devil tried to kill him. All failed. Even “death was no match for him” (Acts 2:24 MSG). Jesus “disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross” (Col. 2:15 NLT). He was not kidding when he declared, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matt. 28:18 NIV). Jesus is the command center of the galaxies. “Two sparrows cost only a penny, but not even one of them can die without your Father’s knowing it” (Matt. 10:29 NCV). He occupies the Oval Office. He called a coin out of the mouth of a fish. He stopped the waves with a word. H

Jehovah-Tsidkenu - Lord our Righteousness

Jehovah-Tsidkenu - Lord our Righteousness Righteousness isn't a terribly popular word anymore so Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the Lord our Righteousness may not seem all that relevant in the 21st Century. We need to take a second glance however. This name of the Lord is one of the most powerful and comforting ones he has given us and an understanding will create a heart bursting with gratitude. Righteousness means morally right or justifiable but some of its synonyms help us more: blameless, guiltless, holy, innocent, just, sinless. When God revealed himself as "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" in the Old Testament (Jeremiah 23:5-8) the people were anything but sinless and guiltless. In fact, they were in the process of being hauled off into exile and captivity for their constant and longstanding sin, idolatry, and unfaithfulness to the Lord. They had been warned over and over through the prophets God had sent to them but their hearts were hard. Finally the judgment fell tho

He who promised is faithful!

He who promised is faithful When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. Exodus 13:17 after the Israelites left Egypt, God led them “around by the desert road toward the Red Sea”. Though there were shorter routes, God led them a longer way around the desert and demonstrated His faithfulness and power. His faithful presence was with them in pillars of fire and cloud (Ex21–22), and He demonstrated His power by His miraculous deliverance of the Israelites from the pursuing Egyptians (Ex. 14). Our God is faithful, and we can trust Him to lead us and care for us no matter what we face. We may not understand the reason for the path we are on, but we can trust Him to help us grow in faith and maturity along the way.  His timing is always the best..his a good God!
