ART OF WAITING : Waiting on God’s Promises:

Image
A lot of people don't know how to wait. Society has an impatient, "do-it-quick, high tech, computerized, push button" mentality. We try to bring all that over into Christianity, but there are times when you have to be willing to wait.  You may be waiting for a major financial breakthrough in your business, a miracle baby, a job, healing or someone special in your life. While waiting patiently is definitely not easy, we need to be encouraged by some people in the Bible who waited for God for years until He fulfilled His promises. Consider Noah for instance, he spent many years of his life building an ark, some say a hundred and twenty while some argue that it took him seventy-four years. Be that as it may, it took Noah years to build the ark and people ridiculed him, asking if he was certain he heard from God. Whatever you are waiting for will eventually come to pass. God’s timing is perfect; everything God says happens exactly when it is supposed to

God hears when we pray

Do not stop crying out to the   Lord  our God for us, that he may rescue us.   1 Samuel 7:8 Sometimes the burden is too heavy..take time to pray for one another..you Cnt jst speak and encourage..go out of your way to pray with & for them..at some point we have traveled on the wings of someone ‘s prayers.. One day, when I was deeply concerned about the welfare of one close to me, I found encouragement in part of the Old Testament story of Samuel, a wise leader of the Israelites. As I read how Samuel interceded for God’s people as they faced trouble, I strengthened my resolve to pray for the one I loved. The Israelites faced the threat of the Philistines, who had previously defeated them when God’s people didn’t trust in Him (see 1 Samuel 4). After repenting of their sins, they heard that the Philistines were about to attack. This time, however, they asked Samuel to continue praying for them (7:8), and the Lord answered clearly by throwing their enemy into confusion

GOD TURNS BACK THE SUN

Promise Keeper Hezekiah was king of Judah and fell ill. The prophet Isaiah was sent to his bedside to tell him to set his affairs in order because he was not going to recover. Hezekiah wept and prayed to the Lord and reminded him how he had served Him in sincerity and truth. Since he became king, Hezekiah had spent his time tearing down the high places, groves, altars and idols to the false gods in the land. He had indeed served God. God heard his prayer and through Isaiah told him that he would - 1. heal him 2. he would appear in the temple on the third day 3. He would add 15 years to his life, and  4. He would deliver Jerusalem out of the hand of the king of Assyria. Talk about answered prayer! But look how bold Hezekiah was in response -  Isaiah 38:7, And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, What is the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord the third day? Then Isaiah said, This is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will

The God move

God Move Seeking a move of God is all in vain once we no longer seek with heart, soul, mind and strength the God of the move. What works, what lasts, is God Himself. Not what seems for Him, seems like Him or about Him. It’s God Himself. All else sooner or later will fizzle or fanaticis. Psalm 127:1 (CSB) ”Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain”. A true move of God moves, yes, but also tarries when He does. Waits. Builds strength. ”Those who wait on the Lord renew their strength & mount up with wings like eagles”, Isaiah 40:31. Then the move doesn’t just march ahead. It soars. We who seek a true move of God must learn to discern the wind. Jesus Christ told His followers that a stable foundation is critical in building lives. He said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended

battle of the mind

Sometimes your spirit is just troubled and you fail to point what is really wrong with you. in Your christian journey you might find yourself in places which you never thought you would be or facing challenges which you never thought you would encounter. This might just demotivate you to pray, make you lose hope or crush your spirit. The bible indicates that in  Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places". From experience  I had a time when i have been struggling with my thoughts. There were things going through my mind that I knew could not have possibly come from God. Yet I was powerless to stop them. It got so bad that I had to distance myself inexplicably from individuals to avoid possible confrontations. The first day it felt as if I had lost total control of my mind. By day two, I literally had to shake my head to
